State Databases

Public records websites are usually just robust programs that access huge databases. These databases normally include things of public records like court records, DMV / motor-vehicle information, criminal records, property appraiser data,  and more.

Not all sites are created equal.  Some have taken the time to write better programs with farther and deeper reach. Getting access to state information can be done, but can also be tricky at time which is why websites that help do the searching for you are so popular.

You can find records from all fifty states easily on most public records sites today. Alaska to Alabama. Michigan to Maine. Washington to New York. California to Connecticut.  Texas to Wisconsin. Okay, you get the idea.

To visit the top state database website that I recommend, go to Gov-Records.com

If you are looking for personal information that is accessible to the public, you will find it there. Searching yourself could take you hours or more, when you can take all the grunt work out of it by using a website with access to multiple types of databases in all of the states!

If you are a Real Estate Investor, than the chances are that you need to refer to property records frequently in your line of work. Checking out recent sales, past sales, deed records, and related information is all part of your investigative work when researching property.

For example, I live in Florida and I have dabbled a little bit in Real Estate over the years. I’ve found these databases helpful when researching foreclosures, and tax deed auctions.

I’m sure that you already know that this type of information is all available for free via your local county courthouse and property appraiser’s websites. This sure beats the old days of having to drive down the the court house to find this stuff!

If you are a novice and trying to locate these types of records it can be frustrating if you don’t know where to look. The public, government records database that I refer to all the time here on my site is a good resource to help you find what you are looking for, but you don’t have to go there.

If you need to locate past sales or deed information, just do a Google search for the county that the property is in and find your local property appraisers website. From there you can do searches with criteria such as street address, parcel number, and also last and first names. One or a combination of any of the above info should help you find the records that you are looking for! Good luck and have fun!
